Hillsborough Delegation Meeting - Oct. 21, 2025
The State Legislative Delegation will hold an in-person only meeting on Oct. 21, 2025, from 10 AM to 2 PM at TPepin Hospitality Centre - 4121 N 50th St, Tampa, FL 33610. If you wish to provide printed materials for the meeting, you must bring 15 copies to the Delegation Chair's district office (Suite 210, 1101 Channelside Drive Tampa, FL 33602-3613) seven days before the event.

- You can sign up to speak about one or more bills
- You’ll get one minute to speak for each bill you sign up for and will present your comments within the public comment period on that specific bill (see Agenda)

Local bill presentations
The following bills will be presented at the Oct. 21 Legislative Delegation meeting:
- Local Bill #1 - Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Location — Rep. Karen Gonzalez Pittman
- Authorizes relocating the Sheriff’s Office headquarters from the county seat to any location within Hillsborough County.
- Local Bill # 2 - Hillsborough County Charter Reform — Rep. Michael Owen
- Revises the County Charter to expand the Board of County Commissioners to 9 single-member districts; updates procedures for redistricting, appointments, and charter amendments; and provides for a voter referendum.
- Local Bill # 3 - Elected Superintendent — Rep. Michael Owen
- Transitions the Hillsborough County School District superintendent position from appointed to elected, subject to voter approval.
- Local Bill #4 - Land Reserve Stewardship District — Rep. Michael Owen
- Creates the Land Reserve Stewardship District in Hillsborough County as an independent special district to plan, finance, and manage infrastructure, services, and long-term development within the district’s boundaries.
- Local Bill #5 - Tampa Port Authority Ad Valorem Tax Repeal — Rep. Susan Valdes
- Removes the Hillsborough County Commission’s authority to levy ad valorem taxes on behalf of the Tampa Port Authority.
