Accomplishing true sustainability while meeting the needs of individuals and society

Sustainability is the wise use of resources to meet the current needs of individuals and society, while helping to sustain and protect the wellbeing of our people, the environment, and the local economy. Hillsborough County seeks to accomplish true sustainability through achieving a balance between economic needs, human welfare, and environmental resource protection.

The County has partnered with the University of South Florida (USF) to conduct engagement activities to help identify the needs, priorities and willingness of county residents and business owners to commit to supporting sustainability issues and initiatives to enhance the quality of life of all residents. Responses from this survey will be used by the County to develop goals within the sustainability action plan.

Deadlines for participating in the survey, focus groups, and dialogues have passed.

If you're interested in learning more about how to get involved, the results of the survey, or the sustainability action plan, please email sustainability@hcfl.gov.
