Hillsborough County, Fla. (June 26, 2026) - Hillsborough County on Monday, June 29, will unveil the result of months of work that have transformed Cross Creek Park.
The $8.6 million project includes a new 16,000-square-foot recreation building with a gymnasium, fitness room, multipurpose room, and classrooms. The old playground has been replaced with a state-of-the-art one, and the project added a new parking lot, pavilion, shelter, and green space.
Other improvements at the nearly 15-acre park include renovated basketball courts, shade structures and a new fence for the playground, a walking trail with benches, and better parking, landscaping, and stormwater management.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the park at 19019 Basset Creek Dr., Tampa, FL 33647.
The park is in an area that also includes the popular New Tampa Performing Arts Center, John B. Sargeant Sr. Park, and Flatwoods Park.
