Residents invited to complete the Spring 2026 Survey and review draft concepts for the area
Hillsborough County residents are encouraged to participate in the Riverview Spring 2026 Survey, open now through June 5. The survey accompanies the third round of community meetings for the Riverview Community Plan Update.
What is the Riverview Community Plan Update?
Under direction of the Board of County Commissioners, the Hillsborough County Planning Commission and The Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority (THEA) are working to update the existing 2005 Riverview Community Plan. THEA is conducting a Project Development and Environment (PD&E) study that may extend the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway on U.S. Highway 301 to Sun City Center. The potential infrastructure project is an opportunity to assess the Riverview Community Plan in terms of land use adjacent to the roadway and study mobility options associated with the potential expressway extension.
Scope of the study
- Evaluate the adopted Riverview Community Plan
- Edit existing strategies and/or create new strategies for the goals of the Riverview Community Plan
- Assess mobility options in conjunction with THEA's U.S. Highway 301 study
- Present findings to the Board of County Commissioners
The Riverview Spring 2026 Survey is organized into three parts and is based on feedback from past meetings and surveys. Participants will be asked about their vision for Riverview as well as priorities related to community goals. The survey will also request feedback on a draft concept map of the region. Responses are critical to updating the existing community plan and creating new policies.
Take the survey
Community plans are citizen-driven and input is at the heart of the process. Take the Spring 2026 Survey and make your voice heard. The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete, and public comments can be submitted in the Public Engagement section.
