Hillsborough County, Fla. (May 20, 2026) - Habitat for Humanity and Hillsborough County on Thursday, May 21, will dedicate the completion of the latest home in a new affordable housing community in Brandon.
The home is part of the 23-home Windhorst Commons community in Brandon. All of the homes are built by Habitat for Humanity of Tampa Bay Hillsborough with homeowner and volunteer sweat equity. The neighborhood is targeted at those with incomes below 80% of the Area Media Income.
All houses in Windhorst Community are designed to be hurricane resilient, and all include hurricane shutters.
Hillsborough County contributed $1.4 million toward home construction in Windhorst Commons, plus another $600,000 for infrastructure costs.
Thursday's dedication event begins at 10 a.m. The Windhorst community is at 205 W. Windhorst Rd., Brandon, FL 33510. The completed home being dedicated is No. 1240.
