There will be no collection of garbage, recyclables, and yard waste

Hillsborough County, Fla. (Jan. 15, 2026) - Most Hillsborough County offices and facilities will be closed on Monday, Jan. 19, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a federal holiday.

There will be no garbage, recycling, or yard waste collections on Jan. 19 in the unincorporated Hillsborough County Solid Waste Service Area, which includes Tampa Palms, Hunter's Green, and New Tampa. If your collection day for garbage, recycling, or yard waste falls on this holiday, services will resume on your next regularly scheduled collection day. There are no holiday make-up collections.

  • Skate parks open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • A limited number of Animal Control and Code Enforcement officers will be on call for emergencies only.
