Hillsborough County, Fla. (Nov. 1, 2025) - As fall temperatures cool, Hillsborough County Extension Service is helping residents plant, plan, and prepare for a sustainable season ahead. From learning how to manage trees and compost waste to improving your financial future, November's lineup of classes offers something for everyone.

Tree lovers can branch out during So You Want to Be an Arborist?, a three-day in-person course Nov. 4-6 introducing participants to arboriculture science, hands-on skills, and career pathways. Those looking for a shorter lesson can join the Afternoon Arborist webinar Nov. 4 to learn how to create an Urban Tree Management Plan for communities and organizations. Hungry for more? Take the Edible Landscaping class Nov. 22 to learn how to grow food beyond your garden.

Residents eager to go green can participate in several Water Conservation Workshops on Nov. 1, including in-person sessions on composting, microirrigation, and rainwater harvesting. Participants receive take-home supplies such as compost bins, irrigation kits, and rain barrels to jumpstart their eco-friendly efforts.

Financially minded residents can also take advantage of free online classes throughout November. Choosing Financial Planners on Nov. 19 will teach how to evaluate credentials and compensation, while the self-paced Financial Building Blocks course offers foundational lessons in budgeting, saving, and credit. One-on-one financial education appointments are also available by request all month.
