Hillsborough County, Fla. (Sept. 25, 2025) - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Wheelchair Football Team will host some of the best wheelchair athletes in the country this weekend.
Ten teams will compete in the tournament, part of the USA Wheelchair Football League, a program of Move United. The first games kick off at 8 a.m. Saturday. A full slate of games is scheduled for Saturday, with playoff games on Sunday.
The tournament is at the Tampa Convention Center, 333 S. Franklin St., Tampa, FL 33602. In addition to the Tampa Bay Wheelchair Buccaneers, other wheelchair football teams at the tournament include the Arizona Cardinals, Birmingham Hammers, Buffalo Bills, Cleveland Browns, GLASA Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers, Irving Outlaws, New England Patriots, and New Orleans Saints.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Wheelchair Football Team is scheduled for two games Saturday: at 10 a.m. against the Cleveland Browns, and an afternoon game whose opponent and time will be decided by the outcome of the morning games. All games are open to the public; admission is free.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Wheelchair Football Team is part of Hillsborough County Adaptive Sports, a signature program of Hillsborough County Parks & Recreation. The mission of HC Adaptive Sports is to promote health, independence, and personal growth through sports for people with physical and intellectual disabilities. More than 300 athletes participate in Hillsborough County Adaptive Sports each year.
Move United is a nonprofit organization that provides national leadership and opportunities for individuals with disabilities to develop independence, confidence, and fitness through participation in sports.
