Nationwide pet adoption and donation campaign helps find loving homes for animals in need

As if meeting your new best friend isn't enough of a win, Hillsborough County's Pet Resource Center (PRC) is sweetening the deal by waiving all adoption fees during the month of August. PRC is joining NBCUniversal's national Clear the Shelters campaign, which has led to over 1 million pet adoptions and raised millions of dollars for animal shelters since its 2015 inception. During the monthlong effort, NBC and Telemundo stations across the United States partner with shelters in their communities to promote pet adoption and raise critical funds.

With over 400 cats and dogs currently at the shelter, PRC is over capacity and inviting residents to help these very deserving animals find permanent homes. Check out the online kennel to view the adoptable pets, then stop by the shelter Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. to meet them.

There, you'll find Neptune, a quiet and respectful 8-year-old gentleman with a heart full of affection.

For those looking for calm, cuddles, and a little splash of fun, Rain has you covered as a 7-year-old cuddle buddy whose politeness and willingness to play will brighten your day.

Looking for a feline friend? Sky is an 8-year-old tuxedo who loves to cuddle, enjoys all the scratches, and finds joy in playtime.

There's also plenty of kittens like Kate and Christy to keep you entertained with their abundance of energy and love.

Now is your chance to make a difference - help clear the shelter today!
