Hillsborough County, Fla. (May 7, 2025) - Another 140 units of much-needed affordable housing for seniors will officially open this week.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 8, for the Casa Di Francesco apartment complex, 4450 Mango Rd., Seffner, FL 33584. The four-story complex will contain 100 one-bedroom units and 40 two-bedroom units, all of which will be rented at below market rates to low-income residents. Units are still available to rent and seniors can apply here.

Amenities include a clubhouse with exercise room, library, walking trail, community garden, and picnic area. The housing complex was built on land owned by St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and is restricted to households with at least one member who is 55 or older.

Hillsborough County helped provide $6.1 million in funding for the project, which was developed by Blue Sky Communities.

The programs and services funded by Hillsborough County focus on creating new affordable housing opportunities, training for residents to further their careers and afford home ownership, and infrastructure improvements that enhance the communities around them.
