Credit card debt, income taxes, and health insurance options all topics of upcoming series

Hillsborough County Extension Service Family and Consumer Sciences division is kicking off the new year with a series of personal finance webinars. Whether it's paying off expensive credit card debt, prepping for income tax season, or selecting health insurance for early retirees, the series covers topics that could benefit most anyone.

All webinars are free and will take place from noon to 1 p.m. Registration is required. Following is the schedule:

Wednesday, Jan. 8, Managing Credit Card Debt: Options for dealing with credit card debt and helpful resources will be discussed. The discussion will focus on how to analyze current personal finances and make a plan tailored to that situation. Register here.

Wednesday, Jan. 15, Federal Income Tax Updates: Learn about tax rates, credits, deductions, and new policies passed by the U.S. Congress. This session will provide valuable tools to prepare this year's return and information to manage tax liability. Register here.

Tuesday, Jan. 28, Free Income Tax Software and Filing: Tax filers with adjusted gross income up to $84,000 can access free online tax filing software for their tax returns. Adjusted gross income does not include tax deferred income. A software demonstration will take place and common tax filing questions answered. Register here.

Thursday, Feb. 6, Health Insurance Options for Early Retirees: This workshop will explore health insurance options for people who retire before they are eligible for Medicare. UF/IFAS is partnering with the Family Healthcare Foundation and the Tampa Bay Navigator Project to present this webinar. Register here.
