Hurricane Milton Update No. 11

Hillsborough County, Fla. (Oct. 8, 2024) - All Hillsborough County offices and facilities will remain closed for regular operations through Friday, Oct. 11, to allow staff to focus on the emergency response to Hurricane Milton. Solid Waste debris services will continue until it is no longer safe to do so.

The closure includes all County libraries, parks, preserves, and recreation centers. All County public meetings have also been postponed.

Hillsborough County is in the path of Hurricane Milton and faces the potential of damaging winds, life-threatening storm surge, and heavy rainfall. Many County employees are assisting in storm preparations. The County has ordered evacuations for Zones A and B, and those living in mobile and manufactured homes, and has opened 11 shelters, eight are general population and three special-needs.
