Screenings, resources, camaraderie focus on keeping caregivers healthy and informed
The Bloomingdale Adult Day Care Center, operated by Hillsborough County Aging Services, will be a one-stop shop on Saturday, April 27, for caregivers looking to care for themselves and find valuable resources for their loved ones. As any caregiver will tell you, they come last. Saturday's Health and Wellness Fair will give them a chance to get basic screenings for themselves and find camaraderie and resources for those they care for.
Monday through Friday, the Bloomingdale center cares for adults with cognitive disabilities, where they find engagement and friendships while their caregivers find time to care for themselves, go to work, doctor appointments, take care of children, run errands, or other everyday needs.
This Saturday, myriad professionals will be on hand to help caregivers keep themselves well and caring for their loved ones. There will also be resources to help with that daunting role.
