Hillsborough funded renovations at campus that serves people with intellectual and developmental disabilities
Hillsborough County, Fla. (Feb. 21, 2024) - Hillsborough County and Sunrise Community, Inc. on Thursday, Feb. 22, will celebrate the completion of major renovations to a campus that supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Hillsborough County Affordable Housing provided more than $740,000 in Community Development Block Grant funding for the work at the Sunrise Centre for Life Development, 2714 W. Kirby St., Tampa, FL 33614. The funding was used for extensive rehabilitation and renovation of several buildings, including new or improved flooring, doors, sheetrock, cabinets, tile, plumbing, and lighting, along with painting, ceiling repairs, electrical work, and other improvements.
The services provided at the Sunrise Adult Day Training Center are focused on enriching the lives of people with varying abilities to empower them in achieving higher levels of independence, self-determination, and personal responsibility.
