Hillsborough County, Fla. (Dec. 29, 2023) - Hillsborough County Facilities Management & Real Estate Services is temporarily transitioning Pierce Street Parking Garage, located at 319 N. Pierce St., Tampa FL 33602, to a cash-only payment system for the public beginning Tuesday, Jan. 2, for about two months.
Pierce Street Parking Garage is the closest public parking option for visitors to County Center. The public is encouraged to be prepared with cash on hand. Signs will be installed throughout the garage to alert the public of the change. The gate arms at the exit accept cash, and a parking attendant will be on site for any assistance needed. Exact change will not be necessary.
The County is also increasing the free parking "grace period" from the first hour to the first four hours during this transition period. Rates are then $1 every 30 minutes thereafter.
As additional parking options, there are metered street parking spaces that use a mobile app or pay stations that accept coins and credit or debit cards. Fort Brooks Garage and Twiggs Garage are also public parking garages that are located nearby. Visit the parking information page on the County's website for a full list of parking options.
