Commit to reading one book per month: Whether you prefer hard copies or e-books, creating a consistent reading habit is a great new year's goal. Start by applying for your library card either online or in-person at your local branch. With your card, you have access to Hillsborough County Public Library Cooperative's immense collection of books. You can also access Libby or Hoopla to instantly download digital materials to your device.

Unplug the family for one day each week: In the new year, commit to one day each week for the entire family to unplug from electronic devices. The library makes this commitment easy with several non-screen time ideas for the whole family. For kids, the library offers Vox Books and Wonderbooks, which are audio books attached to print books for a read-a-long experience. Some library branches also offer microscopes, telescopes, math games, and anatomy models. While the kids are engaged, parents can sit back with a good book or listen to an audio book or music.
