Hearing to consider an application from the USF Medical Response Unit for an ambulance COPCN
A public hearing will be held August 11, 2025, beginning at 11AM, at the Hillsborough County Public Safety Operations Complex, 9450 E. Columbus Drive, Tampa, FL 33619, to consider an application from the University of South Florida Medical Response Unit for an ambulance Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (COPCN).
In accordance with Section 22-90 of the Hillsborough County Code of Ordinances and Laws, Part A, any current COPCN holder and any person or entity who can demonstrate a financial or public safety interest in the application may intervene in the public hearing process by filing a Notice of Appearance and Intervention (NAI) (form EMPC 104.NAI) with the EMPC no later than 5 PM, August 1, 2025. The NAI shall include the name, address, and telephone number of the person filing the NAI; name, address, and telephone number of any representative or lawyer for that person; the names of all persons to be called as witnesses; and, the approximate amount of time needed to present testimony. The actual amount of time allotted each person filing an NAI to present testimony and the presentation of additional witnesses is within the authority of the Hearing Officer.
Appeals
If a person decides to appeal any decision made by the Public Hearing Officer with respect to any matter considered at a meeting or hearing, the person will need a record of the proceedings, and that, for such purpose, may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceeding is made, which record includes the testimony or evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
