Join us at Alafia North Prong Nature Preserve, one of our ELAPP properties currently in the early stages of restoration

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the preserve's development before it is open to the public! We'll be planting ~80 trees to help add overstory and prevent erosion.

Activities:

  • Planting slash pine and magnolia trees
  • Each tree can be moved by one or two people
  • 1/2 mile hike to/from planting site
  • Manual tree installation

Things to know

  • This is a free event
  • Meet at 7602 Henry George Road, Plant City, FL 33567
  • The length of the trail is 0.5 miles
  • Participants must be at least 10 years old
  • Maximum of 5 participants per group

What to bring:

  • Sturdy, closed-toe shoes and long pants
  • Sunscreen, bug spray, hat, towel, and work gloves
  • Reusable water bottle (water coolers will be on-site for refills)
  • Snacks if desired
  • Sunglasses

Requirements: Minimum age 10 (minors must be accompanied by a chaperone and have a guardian's signature via this liability waiver)

If you need to cancel, experience issues registering, or have any questions, please email Trailcats@hcfl.gov. All participants must complete our liability waiver prior to the event.
