Join us for a trip to Cockroach Bay Nature Preserve!

Cockroach Bay Nature Preserve is a key conservation area in Ruskin, Florida, and part of the larger Cockroach Bay Aquatic Preserve, a large, well-restored tidal ecosystem. The preserve's uplands, managed by Hillsborough County, offer hiking trails that lead to an elevated viewpoint nicknamed "Mount Cockroach," providing panoramic views of Tampa Bay and the restored wetlands. It is particularly renowned as a premier spot for birdwatching, with over 260 species recorded. For water-based recreation, a boat ramp provides access for kayaking and canoeing through the surrounding mangrove islands and aquatic preserve, which is popular for fishing.

Free event and free transportation from and to the recreation center will be provided. Spots are limited.
