Curious about the plants that make Florida's landscapes so unique? Join two experienced Trail CATS volunteers for "Nature Skills: Native and Invasive Plants 101" and discover how to identify common native and invasive plants found throughout our yards, parks, and preserves. Learn why native plants are vital to wildlife, how invasive species impact Florida's ecosystems, and explore the basics of cultivating native species while safely identifying and removing invasive ones.

Whether you're a beginning gardener, an avid Florida hiker, or simply curious about Florida's natural world, this informative class offers a great introduction.

Note: Class will be held in an air-conditioned classroom.

  • Registration is required
  • Cost: $5, pay during registration
  • Where to meet: Meet at the Classroom behind the Nature Center
  • Age: 10-years-old and up; under 18 must be accompanied by an adult
  • Maximum participants: 10
