Watch for birds as the sun sets and after dark!
Want to learn about the native birds around Tampa? Want to see what happens in the park after dark? Join a Lettuce Lake park ranger and Dr. Mary Keith from the Audubon Society for a hike on the "Hammock Run" Trail at Lettuce Lake Conservation Park. Take in the views as the sun sets over the park, watching for wildlife like owls, wading birds, and deer.
Because this hike's purpose is to observe birds, the hike will be slower paced and will include many stops to observe the birds. If you wish to complete your hike quickly, this may not be the hike for you.
Closed toed shoes and a refillable water bottle are required.
We recommend, a hat, bug spray, snacks, and a camera or binoculars for nature viewing.
The sun will set during the hike, around 5:45 PM, so hikers may wish to also bring a headlamp or flashlight for the end.
