How and where to dispose of plastic bottles and jugs

  • Recyclable items should be clean, empty, and dry.
  • Do not bag recyclables. No plastic bags.

Accepted:

  • Plastic bottles (water, soda, liquid soap, shampoo, etc.)
  • Plastic jugs (milk, juice, detergent, cleaning supplies, etc.)

Not Accepted:

  • Plastic bags, plastic wrap, packaging, and bubble wrap
  • Polystyrene foam (e.g., foam packaging, like egg cartons, peanuts, and blocks)
  • Plastic straws and utensils
  • Medication/prescription bottles

Special Instructions:

  • Bottles and jugs have a neck that is narrower than the body of the bottle.
  • Keep plastic caps on or dispose of caps separately in the trash.
  • Dispose of plastic pumps and spray nozzles separately in the trash.
  • Labels can be left on.
