Occupational License Requirements for Charitable, Educational & Non-Profit Groups

Purpose

To provide guidance regarding occupational license requirement to charitable, religious, fraternal, educational or non-profit associations which hold arts and crafts shows and festivals to raise money for the charitable, religious, fraternal, educational or non-profit association.

Policy

Pursuant to Section 16.01(2) of Ordinance 80-6, the Board of County Commissioners shall waive the requirement of “Blanket” occupational license of Section 50.01 of Ordinance 80-6 for those organizations, as mentioned above, which hold arts and crafts shows and festivals and which request the Board of County Commissioners waive the occupational license requirement. By waiving the “blanket” occupational license requirement, which is in lieu of individual licenses for the organization and the exhibitors, no license shall be required or the organization and the exhibitors.

Responsibility

It shall be the responsibility of the organization to request the Board of County Commissioners, pursuant to Section 16.01(2) of Ordinance 80-6, to waive the “blanket” occupational license requirement or any other occupational license requirement for those organizations as referenced above which hold annual arts and crafts shows and festivals. The organization shall explain within its request how it qualifies as a charitable, religious, fraternal, educational, or non-profit organization.
