Bus Pass Subsidy Program
The Board of County Commissioners approves payment of bus pass subsidies for
- employees of the Hillsborough County BOCC;
- employees of any elected Hillsborough County officer or Hillsborough County public agency; and
- employees of the State of Florida who received bus pass subsidies from Hillsborough County BOCC in fiscal year 2005 by virtue of the fact that prior to the 1998 Amendment of Article V of the Florida Constitution, BOCC paid their salaries.
Employees who take advantage of parking facilities owned or subsidized by the BOCC are ineligible for subsidized bus passes. Use of subsidized bus passes is restricted to the employee purchaser and is for that individual’s use only.
The County Administrator shall designate responsibility for administration of the Bus Pass Subsidy Program in compliance with this policy. The BOCC will pay a maximum of 75% of the cost of bus passes for the employees listed above. The County Administrator or the County Administrator’s designee may determine at any time that budgetary constraints require a subsidy of less than 75%.
