Designation of Code Inspectors and Code Enforcement Officers
Purpose
The purpose of this Policy is to designate Code Inspectors and Code Enforcement Officers as authorized by Section 162.21, Florida Statutes, whose home phone and address ten shall, pursuant to Chapter 94-128, Laws of Florida, be exempt from disclosure as public records.
Policy
Code Inspectors and Code Enforcement Officers are those County employees whose position description indicate their duties include both inspection or investigation of a situation or premises and the authority to initiate a legal process (either administrative or judicial) which may result in the imposition of penalties or the revocation of a privilege.
Initial Designation
The following classifications are designated as Code Inspectors and Code Enforcement Officers:

Additional Designations
The Board of County Commissioners may designate additional classifications as Code Inspectors and Code Enforcement Officers upon recommendation of the Appointing Authority following review by the Department of Human Resources and Equal Opportunity and Civil Service.
Responsibilities
It is the responsibility of the Appointing Authority to advise the Records Custodian of the designation of these employees and the public record exemption of their home phone numbers and addresses.
