Political Activities of Non-Profits
Purpose
To establish a policy that limits the political activities of not-for-profit corporations (organized pursuant to Section 501(c)(3), Internal Revenue Code) receiving public funding from Hillsborough County.
Policy
Not-for-profit corporations that receive public funding through Hillsborough County shall not engage in political activities that promote or oppose a specific candidate.
Responsibilities
It shall be the responsibility of the county department proposing a contract between a not-for-profit corporation and Hillsborough County to ensure that a contractual provision containing a prohibition on political activity in accordance with this policy be included in said contract.
