Policy for Making Awards to Appointees by the Board of County Commissioners

Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to establish the Board of County Commissioners guidelines for making awards in recognition of services performed by appointee members of other boards, councils, committees, and authorities.

Policy

It is the policy of the Board of County Commissioners to recognize and award faithful performance of service by appointees of the Board.

Any appointee who has performed services for the Board of County Commissioners or who has served as a member of other boards, councils, committees, and authorities for a period of one or more years and has conscientiously carried out those duties can be recognized by an award of a certificate of appreciation approved by the Board.

Any appointee who has served as a member of other boards, councils, committees, and authorities for more than one term and has distinguished themselves for their long and faithful service can be recognized by a certificate of distinguished services which may be accompanied by a plaque.

Responsibilities

It is the responsibility of the other boards, councils, committees, and authorities which depend upon and are committed to the Board of County Commissioners for appointments of their membership vacancies to notify the Board Administrative Secretary in advance of an appointee termination or vacancy and to make recommendations to the Board of those appointees who should be recognized for their services.
