Catch the Tony award-winning musical, Tampa Bay City Ballet and more this month

Hillsborough County, Fla. (Oct. 1, 2026) - October brings a packed month of performances to the New Tampa Performing Arts Center (NTPAC), with a Tony award-winning show, an original ballet and free community events. Tampa City Ballet Presents: La Séptima, 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2, and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 3. Tampa City Ballet brings its acclaimed production, La Séptima, to the NTPAC stage for two evenings of contemporary dance, live music, and cinematic storytelling. Inspired by Tampa's past and Venezuelan cultural heritage, the work blends movement and narrative to explore community, memory and resilience. Tickets are $40-$70 depending on seat selection.

New Tampa Unplugged: Stewart Tussing Band, 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4, The Stewart Tussing Band, composed of three veteran Nashville musicians who began their careers in Tampa Bay, returns home for an intimate unplugged performance. The group's acoustic storytelling and seasoned musicianship make for a warm, engaging afternoon concert. This show offers intimate table seating. Tickets are $20-$27.50 depending on seat selection.

New Tampa Players Presents: Come From Away, 7:30 p.m. Oct. 16-17 and Oct. 23-24; 2:30 p.m. Oct. 18 and Oct. 24-25. The award‑winning musical Come From Away arrives at NTPAC this October, 25 years after the events of September 11, 2001. Based on the true story of the 38 planes carrying nearly 7,000 passengers that were diverted to Gander, Newfoundland, a small town in Canada. The show highlights the local residents that welcomed them, and showcases themes of compassion, community and connection. Multiple performances across two weekends offer ample opportunity to experience this powerful production. Content advisory includes mild language and references to 9/11. Tickets are $22-$36 depending on seat selection.

Broadway Open Mic Night, 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 26. NTPAC's Broadway Open Mic Night invites performers of all experience levels to take the stage. With free admission, live piano accompaniment by David Estevez and an encouraging environment, participants can sing their favorite show tunes - just bring sheet music. This event is free and open to the public.

The Music of James Taylor, 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30. The St. Pete Collective presents The Music of James Taylor, a tribute to the legendary singer‑songwriter. Featuring a talented ensemble of musicians interpreting Taylor's most beloved songs, the concert brings the smooth, nostalgic sound of the 1970s to New Tampa. This show offers intimate table seating. Tickets range from $20 to $27.50 depending on seat selection.
