Wise joins the Florida Association of County Managers Board of Directors, helping shape the future of county governments across Florida
Hillsborough County Administrator Bonnie Wise has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Florida Association of County Managers (FACM), earning a leadership role with an organization dedicated to advancing professional county management across the state. Wise will help guide the association's mission of strengthening local government through collaboration, education, and the exchange of best practices among Florida's county administrators.
Her election gives Hillsborough County a stronger voice in statewide discussions on issues that affect local governments, while creating additional opportunities to bring innovative ideas and proven solutions back to the community. As one of Florida's largest counties, Hillsborough County will have a seat at the table as county leaders statewide work together to address shared challenges and improve services for residents.
FACM President Monica Cepero says Wise brings the experience and collaborative leadership needed to help guide the organization.
"Bonnie Wise has earned the respect of county managers across Florida through her steady leadership, collaborative approach, and unwavering commitment to public service," said Cepero. "Her experience and dedication to advancing professional local government management make her an outstanding addition to the Florida Association of County Managers Board. I look forward to working alongside Bonnie as we continue supporting county leaders and strengthening communities throughout Florida."
Since becoming county administrator in 2020, Wise has led one of Florida's largest local governments, overseeing County operations and strategic initiatives that support more than 1.5 million residents. Wise sets the framework for carrying out the Board of County Commissioners' decisions, including preparing an annual budget of over $9 billion, monitoring effectiveness of County services, and overseeing the management of more than 5,200 County employees.
Wise is a longtime public servant with extensive experience in executive leadership and public finance. She advocates for an atmosphere of innovation and collaboration among County employees, public and private sector stakeholders, and the broader community with her mantra of "one team, one county, and one community."
Her appointment to the FACM Board of Directors will allow Wise to collaborate with county leaders from across Florida on emerging issues, professional development opportunities, and policies aimed at helping counties operate more efficiently.
