Drop Savers art contest winners get accolades

Schoolchildren across Hillsborough County are being recognized this spring for their creative artwork for Hillsborough County's "Drop Savers" poster contest.

Students from Kindergarten to high school took on the challenge of designing posters to advocate for water conservation in this annual event. The artwork is helping to shed light on an important issue during Hillsborough County's ongoing drought.

The students were recognized this week both at the Hillsborough County School Board meeting as well as in their schools. See some of the student artwork here

A panel of water conservation specialists from Hillsborough County Water Resources and the City of Tampa Water Department judge all school winning posters on the message, creativity, originality, and artistic ability and will choose a first-, second-, and third-place local winner for each division.

The first-place local winners advance to the statewide level, judged by the Florida Section of the American Water Works Association (FSAWWA).
