Apply by April 3 for CAIG and May 1 for HPCG
Organizations looking to expand arts access or preserve local history in Hillsborough County have two 2026 funding opportunities available through the Arts Council of Hillsborough County.
Applications are now open for the Community Arts Impact Grant (CAIG) and the Historic Preservation Challenge Grant (HPCG), two programs designed to strengthen the community's cultural landscape and support projects that benefit both residents and visitors.
Community Arts Impact Grant
CAIG provides funding to help nonprofit organizations and higher education institutions bring arts and cultural programming to underserved communities across Hillsborough County.
The program prioritizes projects that increase access to the arts and support geographic, ethnic, and age diversity, as well as initiatives serving veterans and people with disabilities. Nonprofits may apply for up to $5,000, while eligible colleges and universities may apply for up to $12,500.
Applications for CAIG are open through April 3, 2026. Projects are evaluated based on access and community engagement, artistic and cultural vibrancy, and financial and administrative oversight.
Historic Preservation Challenge Grant
HPCG supports projects that protect and enhance historic resources throughout Hillsborough County while promoting heritage tourism and economic development. Eligible projects include the rehabilitation or restoration of historic structures, compatible additions to historic properties, improvements to historic sites or grounds, and architectural heritage tourism initiatives.
This competitive program requires a one-to-one funding match and reimburses up to 50% of project costs, with awards of up to $250,000 per project. The current application cycle is open through May 1, 2026.
Both grant programs are administered by the Arts Council of Hillsborough County, which works to promote and strengthen arts and cultural opportunities across the region through funding, advocacy, and community partnerships.
