Hillsborough County, Fla. (Feb. 23, 2026) - Hillsborough County and housing advocates on Tuesday, Feb. 24, will celebrate the opening of a 75-unit apartment complex exclusively for low-income seniors.
Zion Village Apartments sits on about 2 acres owned by the nearby Mt. Zion AME Church of Riverview. All 75 units at Zion Village Apartments will be leased at below-market rates to residents 62 and older who are making 70 percent or less of Area Median Income.
Zion Village features 650-square-foot, one-bedroom apartments with energy-efficient appliances, washer and dryer, and granite countertops. The complex includes a fitness center, library, movie room, clubroom, and outdoor pavilion.
Hillsborough County contributed $6.8 million to the project, which involves a partnership between the County, the Tampa Housing Authority, Smith & Henzy Affordable Group, Mt. Zion AME Church of Riverview, and Adonai's Second Chances, Inc.
