During Family Caregivers Awareness Month, Hillsborough Aging Services helped thank family caregivers with meaningful programming
Throughout November, Hillsborough's Adult Day Services program hosted events to show gratitude to the caregivers that support their clients day in and day out.
There are more than 63 million caregivers in the U.S. who support their family member or friend, providing life-saving care to individuals who need it due to physical or intellectual disabilities.
Plug in to Care
This year, the month's nationwide theme was "Plug in to Care," seeking to help caregivers navigate online tools, networks, and resources.
Much of the ongoing awareness efforts focus on bringing caregivers together for connection and support, and Hillsborough's Adult Day Services does just that. By providing residents with disabilities a place to go during the day, it allows caregivers to meet one another and take much needed time for themselves.
Honoring caregivers in Hillsborough County

Each center hosted meaningful appreciation events featuring catered meals, award presentations, caregiver resource distribution, and access to support services. Many of the County's sites incorporated heartfelt recognition ceremonies that honored the personal sacrifice and dedication caregivers provide every day.
These section-wide efforts strengthened caregiver relationships, enhanced engagement, and showcased the Adult Day Care program's ongoing focus on empowering those who play an essential role in sustaining the health, stability, and quality of life of Hillsborough's seniors and adults with disabilities.
