Hillsborough County, Fla. (Oct. 21, 2025) - Hillsborough County and the Children's Home Network on Wednesday, Oct. 22, will celebrate significant upgrades to a local social services campus that works to improve the lives of foster children.
The upgrades are centered around Kids Village, the Children's Home Network's residential healing program for children ages 6 to 17. The program, located on the main campus of the Children's Home Network, provides a place for up to 54 children to recover from abuse and neglect.
Hillsborough County provided the Children's Home Network with $688,000 in Community Development Block Grants for new air conditioning units for the gymnasium, a new roof and lighting for an on-campus gym, bathroom renovations, new windows, and construction of a pavilion.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark completion of the improvements will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at 10909 Memorial Hwy., Tampa, FL 33615.
The Children's Home Network began as the Children's Home of Tampa in 1892 and has grown into an organization that now serves nearly 7,000 children and adults each year. The nonprofit is headquartered in Tampa and provides services at six other locations throughout Central Florida.
