Neighborhoods can apply for funds up to $5,000 to help strengthen and engage their communities
Hillsborough County, Fla. (Oct. 16, 2025) - Calling all Hillsborough County neighborhood associations! The 2026 Neighborhood Mini-Grant application period is now open.
Neighborhoods can earn grants up to $5,000 to strengthen and engage their communities through innovative and creative projects. Neighborhood Homeowners Associations, Neighborhood Civic Associations, Condominium Associations, and Neighborhood Associations are eligible to apply, including those in the cities of Tampa, Plant City, and Temple Terrace.
The deadline to apply is 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12. Visit the Neighborhood Mini-Grant webpage to learn more and to submit an application.
The Neighborhood Mini-Grant project categories are:
- Healthy Neighborhood: Fostering a healthy community through conservation, environmental stewardship, or healthy lifestyles
- Safe Neighborhood: Projects or programs that prepare residents with knowledge and tools that teach them how to prevent, confront, and/or respond to situations that threaten the safety of the community
- Engaged Neighborhood: Unique projects that engage and bring neighbors together
Last year's grant recipients included 16 neighborhoods with unique and stunning projects. A historic neighborhood created an untold story documentary, and another neighborhood rebuilt a more durable community pavilion to replace one that had been destroyed by Hurricane Milton.
Other successful neighborhoods created a community peace garden, installed path lighting along sidewalks, added a wooden pergola and accompanying chairs, constructed a bocce court canopy, and added new pavers.
Neighborhood associations that are interested in applying will need to join the Neighborhood Listing. Visit the Neighborhood Listing to confirm that your neighborhood is part of the listing. If your organization is not part of the listing, you can submit an online application. Prior to applying for a Mini-Grant, your organization must receive an email confirmation from Hillsborough County Neighborhood Relations stating that your organization has met the requirements and is now part of the listing.
