Hillsborough County, Fla. (Oct. 1, 2025) - Hillsborough County and the University Area Community Development Corporation on Thursday, Oct. 2, will celebrate recent improvements to Harvest Hope Park, a community park near the University of South Florida.
Upgrades include replacing the grass on a large recreation field with artificial turf, the installation of a pavilion and shade structure, and new irrigation. Hillsborough County contributed $300,000 to the project.
The 7-acre park features a community garden, splash pad, pond, recreation field, and a building for community classes.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the park at 13704 N. 20th St., Tampa, FL 33613.
The University Area Community Development Corporation, Inc. is a nonprofit public/private partnership whose mission is children and family development, crime prevention, and economic growth. Its primary focus is the redevelopment and sustainability of the at-risk areas surrounding the Tampa campus of the University of South Florida. For over 20 years, University Area CDC has championed positive change in the economic, educational, and social levels of the community through youth programs, adult education, affordable housing, workforce and resource assistance, and community engagement.
