Hillsborough County, Fla. (Aug. 1, 2025) - Progress Boulevard is scheduled to close from South 78th Street to South 85th Street, to include South 82nd Street, for up to 60 days beginning Aug. 4, as work continues on the Progress Village Regional Drainage project.

The drainage project features several measures to improve stormwater management in the area. These include installation of a new stormwater drain under Progress Boulevard and the associated side streets throughout the Progress Village Community; replacement of existing drainage inlets and outfalls; and construction of a dry stormwater pond in the Archie Creek area south of Endive Avenue and east of South 82nd Street.

Navigation apps have been updated on the detour and will route residents around the closure. The road is expected to reopen in early October. Drivers will be detoured to 78th Street, Causeway Boulevard, U.S. 301 South, and Progress Boulevard.
