Hillsborough nonprofit business owners to share how they survive in a complex business landscape
Hillsborough County, Fla. (June 9, 2025) - Hillsborough's successful nonprofit business owners know that nonprofit is a tax status, not a business model. It takes a healthy dose of business smarts to make a nonprofit work.
This month's Local Stories Live will explore the challenges, triumphs, and truths of running a nonprofit organization with a panel of experts. The event is at 9 a.m. Friday June 13 at Hillsborough County's Entrepreneur Collaborative Center.
It will bring together experienced nonprofit leaders to share their journeys, highlight the balance between mission-driven passion and the practical demands of sustainability, and offer insights into fundraising, governance, community impact, and leadership.
Whether you're a seasoned nonprofit professional, a board member, or just starting out, this conversation will provide real-world perspectives and actionable takeaways. The panel will be moderated by Pat Simmons with Bikes for Christ.
Panelists for Local Stories Live:
- Cheryl Hickman, Hope For Her
- Karla Hartley, Stageworks Theatre
- Angelina Ryan, A1 Opportunities
- Jennifer Williams, Global Pathway Studies
This event will be hosted in person at the Entrepreneur Collaborative Center, 2101 E. Palm Ave., Tampa, FL 33605. The panel discussions will also be available live on Hillsborough County's Facebook Page: @HillsboroughFL
