Hillsborough County, Fla. (May 14, 2025) - Age is only a number, and to help keep your mind, body, and spirit in shape, Hillsborough County Adult Day Services is hosting a free health fair to allow seniors to flip the script on aging.
The event - titled Flip the Script on Aging -- will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 17, at the Wimauma Senior Center, 16621 Lagoon Shore Blvd., Wimauma, FL 33598.
The Health Fair is free and open to the public. All the demonstrations and activities are geared to seniors and caregivers. Scheduled activities include:
- Free health screenings
- Blood pressure screenings
- Chair yoga and other exercise demonstrations
- Cooking demonstrations
- Interactive, educational exhibits
- Massages
- Vendors presenting health information to clients and caregivers
- Door prizes and light refreshments
Hillsborough County Adult Day Services offers comprehensive health, social, supportive, and therapeutic services for functionally impaired seniors in a community-based setting.
Adult Day Services has four locations in Hillsborough County, which include Tampa, Brandon, Plant City, and Wimauma. Each location is designed to help families whose loved ones wish to remain at home as long as possible but often struggle providing care.
Adult Day Services are for Hillsborough County residents ages 60 and older who have decreased physical, mental, or social functions. Each center offers nurses who provide health monitoring and counseling, therapeutic activities, nutrition counseling, social work counseling, meals and snacks, and assistance with medication administration.
