2025 marks record fourth time area hosts this premier championship

Four regional basketball champions come to Hillsborough County for the National Semifinals at Amalie Arena on April 4, followed by the National Championship Game on April 6, as the NCAA Division 1 Women's Basketball Final Four returns to the area for a record fourth time.

The University of South Carolina Gamecocks, University of Texas Longhorns, University of Connecticut Huskies, and University of California, Los Angeles, Bruins will compete for the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship.

The Tampa Bay Sports Commission and the University of South Florida are the officials hosts of this world-class experience for athletes, fans, and visitors.

Hillsborough County has welcomed more fans in Women's Final Four history than any other community. Looking back, a total of 123,039 fans attended the 2008, 2015, and 2019 Women's Final Fours at what is now known as Amalie Arena. In 2019 alone, sellout crowds totaling 40,189 fans attended as Baylor won the national championship.

Slam dunk for local tourism

The Final Four generates significant positive economic impacts for local businesses, hotels, restaurants, and attractions. They also create opportunities for residents to get involved in the numerous activities surrounding the games.

Attracting more than just fans in the stands, the NCAA and the Local Organizing Committee also organizes numerous events held in conjunction with the games, including basketball contests, a concert, panel discussions, guest speakers, and other events. The activities begin Thursday, April 3.

Beyond the economic impacts, the Final Four inspires young athletes, fosters community pride, and strengthens Hillsborough County's reputation as a world-class destination for sporting events.

The success of the Women's Final Four is built upon the County's partnerships with local organizations, corporate sponsors, and community leaders who are committed to elevating women's sports.
