Hillsborough County, Fla. (March 4, 2025) - Hillsborough County Public Library Cooperative is kicking off its free 2025 author program with New York Times bestselling author Jamie Ford.
Ford's most recent novel, "The Many Daughters of Afong Moy," was an instant New York Times bestseller. His debut novel, "Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet," spent two years on The New York Times Bestseller List and went on to win the 2010 Asian/Pacific American Award for Literature. It is now widely read in schools across the country and has been optioned for a stage musical and also for film.
On Tuesday, March 11 at 6 p.m., the library will be hosting "An Evening with Jamie Ford" at Jimmie B. Keel Regional Library, Community Room C & D, 2903 West Bearss Ave., Tampa, FL, 33618. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear Ford speak about his most recent novel, as well as his journey as a historical novelist. Much of his work focuses on race, identity, love, heroes, and complex families, and has been translated into 35 languages.
During the month of March, the library will also be hosting several book discussions at four different library branches focusing on Ford's most recent novel, "The Many Daughters of Afong Moy." Library customers can also borrow Ford's novels, which are available in hardback or paperback, e-book, and audiobook at most library branches or by visiting HCPLC.org/books.
