New venture will provide healthy food to residents in Progress Village
Hillsborough County, Fla. (Feb. 21, 2024) - Seniors and those experiencing food insecurity in the Progress Village community are invited to visit the new Grow My Giving Mobile Fresh Market truck, which provides free fruits and vegetables.
Hillsborough County is launching this new project to help bring access to healthy, fresh food to underserved communities in the county.
Grow My Giving is partnering with Feeding Tampa Bay and Hillsborough County to provide food resources to individuals and families in support of healthy living. Hillsborough County and its partners are dedicated to helping provide the most basic and healthiest food necessities to households that experience food insecurity. During each event, 100 households will receive at least 10 pounds of fresh fruits and/or vegetables.
As part of this venture, Feeding Tampa Bay will provide fresh and healthy food options to the Progress Village community twice a month through September.
