Commissioners praise treatment center for helping individuals overcome substance abuse and addiction

The Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners presented a commendation during its Board meeting to Riverside Recovery of Tampa, a health center well known and revered for helping individuals who suffer from addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders. Accepting the recognition were Kirk Kirkpatrick and Elizabeth Stockton, co-Founders of the treatment center.

Since its grand opening in 2017, Riverside Recovery of Tampa has been serving their clients 24/7, 365 days a year, utilizing the most effective, evidence-based treatment options available, combined with experiential therapies. The dedicated staff has been instrumental in creating programs that have helped clients gain insight into their addictions and create real change in their lives. Additionally, Riverside Recovery of Tampa has been able to help veterans, courtesy of its partnership with the Community Care Network through the United States Department of Veterans Affairs and the 13th Judicial Circuit's Veterans Treatment Court.

After accepting the commendation, Kirkpatrick thanked the Board for the recognition and said that the organization's mission to help those in need can only be achieved through teamwork.

"It's amazing what you can accomplish when nobody cares who gets the credit," he said. "We just want to make our community a better place."
