Cockroach Bay Boat Ramp is located at the western end of Cockroach Bay Road in Ruskin, approximately one mile west of U.S. 41 (Tamiami Trail). The facility provides a concrete boat ramp, vehicle and trailer parking, and picnic tables.
The ramp provides access to Cockroach Bay and the surrounding waters of the Cockroach Bay Aquatic Preserve and lower Tampa Bay. Visitors can explore shallow tidal waters, mangrove islands, creeks and coastal wetlands, with access to the Horseshoe Crab and Snook Canoe Trails. The area is popular for boating, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, birdwatching and wildlife viewing. Water depths vary with the tide, and visitors should use caution when navigating the shallow waters.

Ramp Etiquette & Navigation
- No Wake Zones: Boaters must adhere strictly to posted idle and slow-speed zones to protect the shoreline, docks, and nearby bridge structures
- Staging Area Protocol: To keep traffic moving smoothly, operators should prepare their boat before pulling onto the ramp
- No Swimming: Swimming, wading, or diving is strictly prohibited
- Boaters need to monitor the tides and be aware of conditions as they relate to the size and draft of their vessels for each area
