The Animal Control Division of Code Enforcement is responsible for enforcing local and state laws that protect pets and people. Partnering with local law enforcement agencies, the Division provides public safety duties throughout Hillsborough County (including the cities of Tampa, Temple Terrace, and Plant City) that include:
- Transport of sick or injured stray pets
- Investigation and reporting of animal bites and dangerous dogs
- Response and investigation of animal neglect/cruelty
- Humane and safety education in the community
