This Board confirms the competency and integrity of applicants applying for mechanical certification in the County, and takes disciplinary action against those contractors that fail to comply with the Mechanical Code

Membership
The membership of this Board shall be comprised of seven members and two alternates appointed as follows:
Category 1
- Hillsborough County Commissioners - 3 members, 2 alternates
Category 2
- City of Tampa - 2 members
Category 3
- City of Temple Terrace - 1 member
Category 4
- City of Plant City - 1 member
Composition is specified as follows:
- A - One Mechanical Contractor
- B - Two Class "A" HVAC Contractors
- C - One Class "B" HVAC Contractor
- D - One Florida Registered Professional Engineer qualified to work in the area of mechanical engineering
- E - One Mechanical Trades Representative
- F - One Sheet Metal Contractor
- G - Two Alternate Members that must be knowledgeable and experienced in the technical codes of this board
Terms
Members shall serve four year terms. Alternates shall serve two year terms.Authority
