This Board has jurisdiction to hear violations of all codes and ordinances of Hillsborough County with most cases arising out of violations of the County's housing, building, zoning and sign codes and ordinances to maintain minimum health and safety standards.

Membership:

The members of this Board shall be appointed by the BOCC and shall be comprised of seven members and two alternates. Whenever possible, seven members should represent the following categories:

  • Architect
  • Businessperson
  • Engineer
  • General Contractor
  • Subcontractor
  • Realtor

Terms:

Members shall serve three year terms. Alternates shall serve three year terms. After two consecutive terms, a member shall not be eligible for reappointment until one calendar year has elapsed from date of termination of the second term.

Special requirements:

  • Annual financial disclosure is required
  • Unincorporated residency is required

Authority:

Chapter 162, F.S. and HC Code of Ordinances and Laws, Chapter 14, Article II, Section 14.

Meetings:

Monthly, generally 3rd or 4th Friday, 9 AM
