Overview
The project improves 0.75 miles of Big Bend Road by widening it from 4 to 6 lanes with new sidewalks, drainage, curb and gutter, and a median. It adds a traffic signal at Old Big Bend Road/Kings Lake Drive and converts Covington Garden Drive to a 3‑leg intersection. Kings Lake Drive will be resurfaced, a southbound left‑turn lane added, and an 8–12 ft trail built along Waterset Boulevard to the Scenic Drive Trailhead.
Objectives
The project aims to improve capacity, reduce traffic congestion, and enhance safety. It will also provide operational improvements along the corridor.
