Overview
- Student walking routes were identified and studied for pedestrian and bicycle improvements to enhance student safety and comfort when walking and bicycling to and from school for Brandon High School and Limona Elementary School. The pedestrian and bicycle improvements were discussed and finalized with HC Public Schools, advisory committees, and communities.
Objectives
- In 218 the Hillsborough County TPO ranked high, middle and elementary schools in the County according to pedestrian exposure to traffic, crashes, and socioeconomic factors. Hillsborough County Public Works used this study to develop the School Route Safety Improvements Program where over 13 schools in the unincorporated County were grouped together to form project areas based on their overlapping attendance boundaries.
