Overview
This project will widen Van Dyke Road from a 2-lane undivided road to a 4-lane divided roadway between Whirley Road and the Suncoast Parkway, a distance of about two miles. Improvements include upgraded stormwater drainage, enhanced pedestrian and bicycle facilities, and several intersection upgrades. Additional features include new sidewalks, improved crosswalks, updated signals, and a shared‑use trail connecting to local trail networks.
Objectives
This project aims to reduce traffic congestion and improve safety for drivers, pedestrians, and bicyclists. By increasing capacity and enhancing travel options, the project aims to improve overall mobility along Van Dyke Road while supporting a safer and more connected corridor.
